Dr. Ronald Kovach
Dr. Ronald Kovach currently serves as the Interim Executive Director of AIAASC. He has held appointments as both a chief academic affairs and as a chief student affairs officers over his 40-year career in higher education. He has presented over 75 papers and workshops on every continent, worked with international faculties, taught in a variety of academic disciplines, and has publications on experiential education and student retention. In the past few months he has trained faculty in Rwanda and served on accreditation teams in Saudi Arabia. In his career,
Dr. Kovach has been awarded nearly $3 million in grants including $1.75 million from the United States Department of Education for experiential learning. For eight years Ron served on the Board of Directors of the National Society for Experiential Education (NSEE) as President, Treasurer, Past President and Director of the Experiential Education Academy and is internationally regarded as a subject matter expert in experiential learning. In 2017 he was awarded the Society’s Steuerman Award for Distinguished Service. Throughout his career in education, Dr. Kovach has played leadership roles in accreditation processes and is experienced with program, state, regional, national and international agencies. He earned his doctorate in Counseling and Adult Education at Northern Illinois University, his M.A. in English from Kent State University, a postgraduate certificate in Administration and Management from Harvard University and a B.S.Ed. in English from Ohio University.
Mrs. Rosanne Samir
Director of Accreditation
and Quality Assurance
Rosanne Samir has a diverse background in teaching, marketing, and administration, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Instructional Systems Technology at Indiana University. Her teaching experience extends from pre-kindergarten through post-graduate levels and includes corporate seminars and employee training.
As Director of the Master of International Education program sponsored by American International
College’s Cairo branch, Rosanne supervised, designed, and taught courses for educators from over 15 countries and territories. The program emphasized professional collaboration, hands-on projects, and action research to provide students with a transformative learning experience.
Consulting for EduSystems International, Rosanne has worked with existing and start-up schools in the areas of school management systems, integration of technology, curriculum design and development, professional development, personnel and program evaluation, quality assurance, and accreditation.
As Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor and Curriculum Developer for a Canadian educational consulting firm, Rosanne participated in USAID educational reform and technology integration projects in public and private schools throughout Egypt.
Rosanne’s experience in education also includes roles as Elementary Principal, Managing Director, and Deputy Director for Student Affairs in various international schools in Egypt, as well as teaching and conducting seminars in the United States, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Bahrain. Prior to joining AIAASC full-time, she served as accreditation team leader and team member, and obtained qualification as an external reviewer from the Egypt Ministry of Education Professional Academy for Teachers.
